Birdlife
Welcome to "Birdlife", the gallery that contains some of my birding highlights. In the early days of autofocus photography making good quality photographs of birds in flight required a lot of skill to select ideal focus points for framing and keeping the bird's eye closer to the lens in focus. Many of the modern mirrorless cameras have mastered the art of automatic eye-tracking, at least on birds where natural eye-masking is not too intense and the electronics can detect and track a bird's eyes. The future of bird photography will bring many more action and flight photographs. Certainly something to look forward to, albeit some of my favourites in this gallery are referred to as "BOS", i.e. birds on sticks, by the experts. I hope you enjoy both flight action and perched individuals!
